i dont know for certain, but my teacher told me a 5 iron should be around your belly button if its straight up (perpendicular to the ground)

i think its a matter of personal preference, and if you like the clubs, you can always get them a little bit shorter or longer
the clubhead sole (bottom of the clubhead) should rest square on the ground at address, without you having to hold the grip awkwardly. if you know how to grip a golf club and address a ball, you should naturally choke up on the grip if its too long or have your left pinky right on the very edge of your grip if its too short to compensate for the length. if your chocking up a lot then they should be shorter

if when you grip the club and get ready to swing the toe of the clubhead is lifted, its too long. If the heel of the club (the part closest to the shaft) is lifted, its too short

about 80% of golfers are standard length, so (im not sure what 168 cm looks like off the top of my head) if your avg height, you should be ok with your dads clubs, if theyre designed for females
    males require longer clubs usually

It’s all about how you address the ball. You can tell if its the right size when you address the ball and the club is completely flat on the ground. This means you don’t want the toe or heal sticking up when you address the ball. If you want to know what size you need you should go to a golf store (Roger Dunns) and get fitted.

P.S. Also check the stiffness of the shaft of the club is. If you’re just starting you probably want to start at a regular stiffness.

first your dads clubs are probably too stiff for you. womens clubs have more flex in shafts. possibly a lil too long but all you need is to choke-up on grip so you are comfortably bent at waist, with blade edge of club square on turf. try them. can’t hurt. but try ladies clubs to see difference. watch women golfers (pros) see how they stand when they address the ball for there shot. will give you a visual idea of how you should look in front of a mirror.
