Mizuno’s Gold, Silver Models…
They are simular to the Ping Zings, but has a wonderful feel upon impact.
You can pick up a used set for about $50…
At least when your playing Mizuno’s, you will know what it feels like when they say that buttery feel of Mizuno’s
This would be a good start.

I would say just about anything Adams Golf, affordable and very beneficial to beginners. Most of their models are forgiving and easy to hit, some even include hybrids which are also very easy to hit.
Rather than buy second hand, grab a cheap set of New Adams clubs and you are sure to be pleased.
Good Luck

As a new golfer you want only perimeter weighted clubs, buy a known brand such as Cobra, Taylor-made, Adams, Mizuno, Ping, Nike and the like. Don’t spend a huge amount of money, you don’t need to.
Best advice you can ever get is go and see a pro. If you approach it right he will not only sell you the gear you need but will also give you some lessons free.
You might also consider second hand clubs for starters.
