Golf clubs are a very personal thing, and the person should be allowed to try them out etc before buying. It is very nice that you want to get him clubs, but he will be much happier if you get a gift certificate from the golf shop and let him pick out his own.

its not always the brand or how much. its what he iis most comfortable with.
i nearly got my hubby some ping golf clubs as i thought they were the best. then i got him to try some and he hated them.
i got someone he plays golf with to test him out at the driving range with different clubs and once he found some he was comfortable with, in his case it was mizuno, i bought him them.
good luck in finding some

see if you can bait him into going to golf galaxy or a sporting goods store that you can hit golf balls. See what he likes and see what he talks about. You may get a good idea of what he likes without being too obvious. There are a number of good brands though, Taylormade, Callaway, Ping, Nike. Suprisingly, there is a huge difference between them. Who does he golf with? You might be able to get some valuable information from that person. That is all people talk about when they are golfing is what type of clubs they would like to get.

As a golf professional I would not buy him golf clubs, but give him a gift certifcate for what you can afford at his favorite pro shop. Go with him when he picks out the clubs he wants, give him a big kiss, tell him you love him and set him free to play a round with his new clubs.
A good set of clubs can cost anywhere between $800.00 and over $2000.00 that,s why a gift certificate is best

Depends on what you want to spend. Some good high end brands are Callaway, Nike, Taylor Made and Cleveland. Others include Wilson, Adams and Mizuno. There are others that offer lower priced options, so there are many to choose from. Check out the website below too get an idea on whats out there and pricing.

It comes down to personal preference. Everybody has a brand they’re loyal to. I always say, In Nike I trust when I answer this sort of question. It gets asked a lot. I’ve played other brands, but I like Nike the best. It’s not because of Tiger Woods either. I use other Nike products besides golf clubs. I even have Nike stock.
